Minutes of the GENERAL MEETING held on Monday, the 29th of July 2013 in the South West Community Centre, 171 Sturt Street in Adelaide.
President Lynn Venning welcomed members and opened the meeting at 2:00 P.M.

GENERAL BUSINESS:-
1. The minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on the 15th of July were approved at the Executive Meeting and copies were available from the table.
2. The next General Meeting will be held in two weeks time on Monday the 12th of August 2013. The following meeting will be held on Monday the 26th of August.
3. Ken Hayes was then asked to draw the first raffle ticket.
4. 21 members were present, making this the best attended meeting for the year.
The deaths of non member John Bradbrook Station Master Brighton on 19/07/2013 aged 81 and John Henry Stubing formerly of Port Pirie on the 23/07/2013 aged 79 were reported.
Lynn Venning then introduced our guest speaker, Ken Hayes who spoke about the sinking of the Montevideo Maru during the Second World War resulting in the loss of life of prisoners of war. Documents released in June 2012 confirm a total of 1,054 Australians of which 845 were from Lark force.
After the talk, Lynn Venning thanked Ken for coming and giving a most interesting talk to members.
Frank Driver was also thanked for arranging for Ken to come along and present the talk.
The members responded with acclamation.
Members were thanked for their attendance.
The Meeting was closed at 2.50 P.M.
There were 21 members present. Raffle proceeds after door prizes were $34.00.
