Minutes of the GENERAL MEETING held on Monday, the 27th August 2012 in the South West Community Centre, 171 Sturt Street in Adelaide.

President Lynn Venning welcomed members and opened the meeting at 2:00 P.M.

Two member deaths were reported. John Kelly, Station Supervisor; Dry Creek on the 13th of August 2012 aged 76

and Ken Elias, Engineman; Mile End on the 14th of August 2012 aged 86.

John Kelly’s funeral was attended by at least four club members and a letter of condolence is to be sent to his family.

One non-member death, that of Wolfgang Kitt, Train Porter on the 10th of August 2012 aged 83 was also reported.

GENERAL BUSINESS:-

1. The Minutes of the meeting held on Monday the 13th of August 2012 were confirmed at the Executive Meeting

    and copies were available from the table.

2. Ron Perkins reported that he had spent three days in the R.A.H. last week and that he had encountered another patient there, our Patron Mr Ron Fitch.

3. A request from the Community Centre to assist by putting on a display at the end of the year has been received.

   Ideas for a display are wanted. Our   club does not normally meet at the centre during December.    

4. The next meeting will be held on Monday the 10th of September 2012.

5. The following meeting will be held on Wednesday the 24th of September 2012.

6. The Christmas Luncheon will be held on Monday the 10th of December at the Pavilion on the Park.

    The cost to members will be $25.00 per person including drinks. Currently 24 members have booked.

7. Names and payments are still being accepted for the Xmas Luncheon.

8. Leo was then asked to draw the first raffle ticket.

9. A DVD about the American influence on Railways Down Under was shown to members.

Members were thanked for their attendance.

The Meeting was closed at 3:10 P.M.

There were 22 members present. Raffle proceeds after door prizes were $32.00.
