Minutes of the GENERAL MEETING held on Monday, the 12th of September 2011 in the South
West Community Centre, 171 Sturt Street in Adelaide.
President Lynn Venning welcomed members and opened the meeting at 2:00 P.M.
APOLOGIES: - E. Halden.
Our Patron Mr Ron Fitch was welcomed to the meeting and was asked to draw the first raffle ticket.

The death of club member Jean Hocking (wife of Eric, deceased) on the 3rd of September 2011, aged
89 was reported.
Also the death of a non-club member Robert Maxwell (Bob) Page, former Station Master Adelaide,
aged 81 years, on the 2nd of September was reported.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
1. The minutes of the previous General Meeting were accepted at the Executive Meeting and
copies were available from the table.
2. The Next Meeting will be held on Monday the 26th of September. A travel DVD of
trains/travel is planned at this time.
3. The following meeting will be held on Monday 10th of October.
4. Names and payment for the Christmas Luncheon (on Monday the 12th of December 2011 at the
Pavilion on the Park) are now being accepted. The cost to members who attend the Christmas
Luncheon will be $25.00 per person.
5. Members then watched an interesting DVD depicting a train journey from Peking to Moscow,
thanks to Pat Marzahn.
6. A new TV program begins on channel 10 tonight, the first episode is of which is with Tony
Braxton Smith (C.E.O.) of Great Southern Railway going under cover on the Ghan and Indian
Pacific.
Members were thanked for their attendance.
The Meeting was closed at 3:10 P.M.
There were 22 members present. Raffle proceeds after door prizes were $35.00
Future meetings will be on the 24th of October and the 7th & 21st November.
Christmas Luncheon will be on Monday the 12th of December at the Pavilion on the Park.
