Minutes of the GENERAL MEETING held on Monday, the 4th July 2011 in the South West
Community Centre, 171 Sturt Street in Adelaide.
President Lynn Venning welcomed members and opened the meeting at 2:00 P.M.

Members then sang Happy Birthday to Cyril and Eddie who were both present at the meeting.
The death of a non-member George Duka (formerly from Port Pirie, a Chef on the Indian Pacific)
aged 74 on the 23rd of June 2011 years was reported.
GENERAL BUSINESS: -
1. The minutes of the previous General Meeting were accepted at the Executive Meeting and
copies were available from the table.
2. Eddie Halden was asked to draw the first raffle ticked.
3. An audited financial statement for the last financial year was presented for members to peruse.
4. An open invitation has been extended by the City Council to help celebrate the South West
Community Centre's sixth birthday on Tuesday the 12th of July. Nibbles and refreshments will
be provided from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
5. The Next Meeting will be held on Monday the 18th of July. The DVD planned will be on the
"Blue Train" the world's most luxurious train going through Africa.
6. The following meetings will be held on Mondays 1st 15th and 29th of August.
7. Names and payment for the Christmas Luncheon (which has been booked for Monday the 12th
of December 2011 at the Pavilion on the Park) are now being accepted. The cost to members
who attend the Christmas Luncheon will be $25.00 per person.
8. Members then watched a DVD of wild flowers in W.A. photographed by Jack Strapps whilst
holidaying in the West. Thanks Jack, excellent photography. A short DVD followed this on
Railways in Switzerland.
9. An extract from the SA Superannuant was read to members: Superannuants can now lodge
with Super S.A. certified copies of their marriage and Spouse's birth certificates. This may
help to avoid any delays in the payment of the pension to the surviving spouse.
10. The Centre has a number of foam boxes available (free) for use as seedling boxes or whatever.
They also have some red reflective (recycled) fabric available for who ever would like some.
Members were thanked for their attendance.
The Meeting was closed at 3:05 P.M.
There were 21 members present. Raffle proceeds after door prizes were $30.00
