Minutes of the GENERAL MEETING held on Monday, the 16th August 2010 in the South West Community Centre, 171 Sturt Street in Adelaide.
President Lynn Venning welcomed members and declared the meeting open at 2:00 P.M.

Today's speaker needed no introduction to members.
Club member John Morcom spoke about his early life at Lameroo and continued through the war years to time spent in Adelaide and Terowie,
and his subsequent promotion to Guard at Tailem Bend.
At the conclusion of Johns talk, Lynn Venning proposed a vote of thanks to John for providing a most interesting talk.
The members responded with acclamation.
John was then asked to draw the first raffle ticket.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: -
Names and payments are now being taken for the Christmas Luncheon to be held on Monday the 13th of December at the Pavilion on the Park.
Cost will be $30.00 per person.
GENERAL BUSINESS: -
All present were advised that the minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday the 2nd of August 2010
were confirmed at the Executive Meeting and copies were available from the table.
The next meeting will be on Monday the 30th of August and the speaker will be John Evans.
Subject to be about the Titanic, "An overload of coincidences".
The following meeting will be on Monday the 13th of September and the guest speaker will again be club
member John Morcom who will continue the very interesting story of his early life.
John Newell will be the speaker on September 27 when he will also present some more of his life left off from his previous talk.

One member death was reported, John Hurley former Operations Manager, Adelaide on the 22nd of March 2010 aged 82.
John Hurley will be long remembered by all those who worked with him.
Copies of his obituary were handed out to members.
Members were thanked for their attendance.
The Meeting was closed at 3:10 P.M.
There were 21 members present. Raffle proceeds after door prizes were $32.00
