Minutes of the GENERAL MEETING held on Monday, the 2nd August 2010 in the South West Community Centre, 171 Sturt Street in Adelaide.
President Lynn Venning welcomed members and declared the meeting open at 2:05 P.M.
APOLOGIES: - J. Newell, K. McLaren, A. Maschgan and R. Meynell.
Our Patron Mr. Ron Fitch and Elaine Sykes were welcomed to the meeting.
SICK LIST: - Robert Hay was reported to be in Glenside Hospital.
Leo Vandenberg gave a very interesting DVD presentation of photos taken during Club
Tours dating back to 2000. Many memories of past good times were remembered.
Leo was thanked for putting together his collection of photos.
The members responded with acclamation.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: -
Elaine Sykes was introduced to the members and gave a short presentation about a
forthcoming 41/2-day "Tour to the Ship Wreck Coast" departing on the 5th of October.
Anyone who wished to join the tour was welcome to do so.
A pamphlet was left outlining the itinerary and costs.
GENERAL BUSINESS: -
All present were advised that the minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday the
19th of July 2010 were confirmed at the Executive Meeting and copies were available from the table.
The next meeting will be on Monday the 16th of August.
The speaker will be well known club member, John Morcom.
The following meeting will be on Monday the 30th of August and the speaker will be John Evans.
Subject to be about the Titanic, "An overload of coincidences".
The Christmas Luncheon will be held on Monday the 13th of December at the Pavilion on the Park.
Cost will be $30.00 per person all-inclusive. Leo now accepts bookings and payment.
Members who wish to do so can bring along any photos that may be of interest to members.
Photos on a CD or DVD can be shown on the screen for all to see.
Leo or Lynn can scan other photos in prior to a meeting ready to be shown to members.
Scanning photos can be a lengthy process.
