Minutes of the GENERAL MEETING held on Monday, the 19th July 2010 in the South West Community Centre, 171 Sturt Street in Adelaide.

President Lynn Venning welcomed members and declared the meeting open at 2:05 P.M.

APOLOGIES: - M. Kernich. A car hit Max about two weeks ago, injuring his leg and is currently recovering in the Blackwood Hospital.

Lynn Venning then gave a DVD presentation of old photos of trains and stations dating
back to the 1940's through to the 1960's combined with a few photos that are more recent.
John Dowe proposed a vote of thanks to Lynn who then drew the first raffle ticket.

SECRETARY'S REPORT: -

One of our previous speakers Alan Christie is retiring, but has advised that his State
Manager is prepared to give a talk to members providing that we inform him of which
topics would be of interest to members. Suggestions wanted?

The hall hire agreement has been signed and accepted by the Centre Management.
Public Liability Insurance will continue to be included in the hire agreement.
Marjon, the Centre's Manager then explained to members that as they use the facility
free of charge, the club might like to offer an occasional donation in the form of tea,
coffee, and long life milk in return for the free use of the facility.

John Evans has offered to speak on the 30th of August. Subject to be about the Titanic.

GENERAL BUSINESS: -

All present were advised that the minutes of the General Meeting held on Monday the
5th of July 2010 were confirmed at the Executive Meeting and copies were available from the table.
 The next meeting will be on Monday the 2nd of August.

Leo will put together his collection of photos of club extended tours dating back to 2000.
The following meeting will be on Monday the 16th of August and the speaker will now be John Morcom.
The Christmas Luncheon will be held on Monday the 13th of December at the Pavilion on the Park.

Cost will be $30.00 per member and their partner.

Leo has assumed the duties of Treasurer due to the ill health of Robert Hay.
He has prepared a financial statement for perusal by members.

One member death was reported. John (Jack) McFawn on the 8th of July 2010, Foreman S & T Electrical Shop Islington aged 85.

Members were thanked for their attendance.

The Meeting was closed at 1:55 P.M.

There were 24 members present. Raffle proceeds after door prizes were $38.00
