Minutes of the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING held on Monday, the 15th of February 2010 in the South West Community Centre, 171 Sturt Street in Adelaide.
President Barrie Stroud opened the meeting at 2:05 P.M.
APOLOGIES: - M. Kernich (Senior Vice President) & R. Hay (Treasurer).
GENERAL BUSINESS: -
1. Standing orders were suspended due to a lack of nominations to fill all the positions of the Executive.
2. Retiring President Barrie Stroud read his Annual Report to the members.
3. Secretary Leo Vandenberg read his report to the members.

4. The Treasurers report was read to members.
5. The club has existed for 78 years (since 1932) and currently has 224 members of which
121 are over 80 years of age and 31 are over 90 years of age.
6. In the absence of any nominations from the floor the following members have agreed to
take on or continue in the following positions: Lynn Venning (President), Leo Vandenberg
(Secretary), Max Kernich (Senior Vice President), John Dowe (Junior Vice President,
Robert Hay (Treasurer) and Bruce Killmier (Committee Member).
7. The next meeting will be on Monday the 1st of March 2010 and the speaker is to be
arranged by Marjon Martin from the South West Community Centre.
8. All present were advised that the minutes of the General Meeting held on the 23rd of
November 2009 were confirmed at the Executive Meeting and copies were available from
the table along with a brief record of the Christmas Luncheon held on Friday, the 11th of December 2009.
9. All present agreed that we should celebrate Our Parton, Mr. Ron Fitch's 100th birthday
on Monday the 7th of June at the Pavilion on the Park. The cost of the meal and drinks
for members and their partners is to be paid for from club funds.
10.The decision to be made regarding the cancellation of the Incorporation status of the
club is to be deferred until our funds are below $5,000.00.
11.Mr Fitch suggested that the club's name should be changed to "The Retired Railway
Employees Club of South Australia" to help encourage all retired railway employees
living in the state to join. He also suggested that it might be possible to contact the
Human Resource Manager of the various Railway Companies operating in the State as well
as Railway Unions to request their assistance in recruiting new members for the club.
12.Free travel for retired former SA/ANR employees may be available by contacting the Human
Resource Manager (Trans Adelaide) on phone number 8218 2398.
13. Mr Fitch was asked to draw the first Raffle Ticket.
